The splash pad / by Martha Keyes

Last week when it was a mere 100 degrees (rather than the 103 it was yesterday), we made a trip to the splash pad with three of my nieces and nephews. It was great! Fun was had by all, and Calvin and Savvy couldn't have been sweeter to each other, holding hands as they navigated the slippery slopes. My only issue is, WHY do we call this place a splash "pad"?? It's cement. And water. There's no padding involved.

Despite that head-scratcher, the splash pad was a great way to escape the heat and spend time together as a family. Baby Thomas somehow slept through the entire thing, managing to look cuter every second.
